Attendant voice mail?

I have a need to give a console operator voicemail. I have set up a seperate ext to receive voicemail but need to light the message on the console phone. I've been trying to renumber a calling group to the vm ext and choose that extention under Ext-GroupCalling-Message but I'm not having any luck. Am I on the right track? If so what am I missing?

Is there a reason for not just creating a mailbox using her extension number?

She is in the operator pickup group. We don't want main inbounds to go to her VM. All calls are answered by an operator in the group, not the attendant.
