How do I change the DN for the Attendant Console (2250)? One of my sites fired their switchboard operator and would like for a secretary to be able to pick-up any calls coming to the switchboard. The secretary has a 2616 if that matters. I think it is done in LD 12 and I tried the following but it did not work.

LD 12
req: chg
AADN (here i put in the secretary's DN)

I guess I'm missing something cause it didn't work or maybe I'm just braindead today.

Hi,

There are several data blocks to look at when using the 2250.

You have the 2250 data block which contains the information for a specific 2250. You have the ATT data block (In the CDB) which is the general programming for the attendant (ATDN, the i.e. 9. The ICI keys etc.

You also have the LDN data block, which contains the main number(s) and you have the NIT data block which contains the numbers to which the attendant is "forwarded" when not in service.

The easiest thing to do is change the NIT data to the DN of the 2616, and unplug the 2250.

If you choose to use the 2250 anyway you can use it the way you are used to.

And users can dial the same numbers, when you are using the 2250 or not...

Thanks one234! The site hired another switchboard operator, so they won't be needing to make this change. I appreciate the information though.

No you cannot pickup the ATDN.

But when it is forwarded to a set (via NIT_DATA) you can, because you can pickup the set.

This was an interesting posting , I have a 2250 with after 4 rings an auto-att picks up. The rings are pretty enoying for the operator to listen to when they are in the office and expect the auto-att to pick up. How can i limit the number of rings on the att to 2 rings.where do i change teh att (atim 20)
