Attendant Console and 7914 set up for second receptionist

I am trying to set up a second attendant location using a 7960 with a 7914 expansion module. I have installed the plugin for the console on the PC. I do not have a phone button template for the 7914 so I created a new template using the 7960. When I reset the phone, the lines appear on the 7960 however the sidecar shows nothing and all the buttons are red. We are using CallManager 4.0 and are new to this system. Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

Did you actually *add* the sidecar as a 7960? Or did you modify the default 7960 template and create a new phone button template..?

From what I understand, you create/modify your 7960 template, add the appropriate number of lines (first six for 7960, the rest on the button template are enough for two sidecars, so the next fourteen are for the sidecar. This may sound like a simple question, but are you sure you assigned the phone button template to the 7960 you're attaching the 7914 to...?

Goto the Phone Configuration page for that device and make sure you have selected the 7914 Expansion Module under the "Expansion Module Information" section.

Thanks to TheLaw. This is what I was missing. Being an overly analytical type I missed this simple setting on the Configuration.
