Easy...?

Elizaaaabeeeeethhhhhh...........!

I need to create a application (thinking excel) that measures attendance on a list of people divided in groups for monthly meetings.

some users are in two or three groups.

they want me to have a single list of users with the groups they belong. This master list will feed, create the lists, and track attendance to the meetings based on the group value(s) associated with the person.

argggghhhh.........!

help!
Dumboy.! Dumboy, I don't know that much about Excel, and you did post in the Access forum, so here's an Access suggestion on structure.

tblMembers: MemberID, other descriptive fields.
tblGroup: GroupID, other descriptive fields
tblMembership: MemberID, GroupID
tblMeeting: MeetingID, GroupID
tblAttendance: MeetingID, MemberID

If each group always meet at the same time of month, time of day and place you might want to make that descriptive info in tblGroup. Otherwise if it varies it would belong in tblMeeting, and you could store the usual or default place & time in tblGroup so that you can have it show up as the default when you go to fill in tblMeeting.

tblMember 1:n tblMembership
tblGroup 1:n tblMembership
tblMember 1:n tblAttendance
tblGroup 1:n tlMeeting
tblMeeting 1:n tblAttendance

When you build forms, you can use a query on tblMembership for comboboxes to limit who you can select as attending any given meeting's Attendance, etc.

This is just off the top of my head so just holler if you run into any inconsistancies...HTH
