Hi:

I've tried to install Ubuntu Linux on a 2nd hard drive that I have. XP is on the first har drive, and the 2nd hard drive was formatted with NTFS system and had some windows data on it.

I screwed up the partitioning but cancelled before i thought it went through. however, although the data was not reformatted, it was apparently repartitioned, and i now have a 300gb drive that shows up as "bad" in windows under partition magic. it is not available from windows explorer.

other than doing an easy recovery of the data, is there another way to simply reformat the drive while still keeping the data. i guess what i'm asking is that, seeing that it is a large drive, i cannot simply move all the data that i have on it to another drive and then reformat the "bad" drive to ntfs and then move the data back, so is there another way?

I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

Paul
