1) I have been sending attachements to co-workers on Windows XP machines
using either Outlook Express or Outlook. They get the email, but not the
attachment. This only happens when I send using Sendmail. If I don't use
Sendmail and use an app such as Kmail, they get the attachment just fine.

I know the attachment is getting sent out because I intercepted one email
using a Open Webmail and I could see the attachment. Its onny when they
are downloaded onto the co-workers machine that the attachment disappears.
There is no sign of it.

The co-workers on linux machines get the attachments just fine. What is
going on here? Is it the ENCODING? Or the character set is wrong?

2) Is there a way to automate the sending process so that everytime I send
out an email using Pine, I dont have to 'sendmail -q'?

Many thanks,
Cloids

set the -q interval on starting sendmail to 1m, e.g.:
/lib/sendmail -bd -q1m

this will send the mail every minute.

as for the attachments, you could look into using a tool like 'mpack' to mime encode the attachments.

how do you currently send the attachments with sendmail?

Actually, since I use Pine, I thought it could be a setting in Pine. I posted on the pine mailing list and got an answer.

When I sent attachments, only users using Outlook would not get the attachments. It is abug in Outlook because all email clients get the attachments except Outlook.

So here is what I was told to do:

enable the quell-content-id option under the config in Pine. After this setting was enabled, everything worked as planned.
