Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone had a solution for the following. We've recently been looking at an email archiving solution from MessageLabs. One of the more interesting features noted from the demos, is the ability to strip attachments before they are saved into the Information Store (IS). In the case of the MessageLabs solution, the attachment can be stripped off and stored in the archive system. The email is then amended with a link to that attachment, so from the end users perspective, nothing changes. As an example, a 6MB attachment is replaced with a 2K link. For a company that deals with large contracts, this would obviously keep the size of our IS down.
Does anyone know of an application / Exchange plug-in that can perform a similar type of operation? The requirements would be as follows:
=> Save the attachments to a location other than the IS, and in such a way that only the intended recipent has access to it
=> Replace the stripped attachment with a link to the attachments save location, so that the user click the link to open it.
Any feedback will be most welcome.
Cheers
