attachment site cannot be displayed

Hi,
I tried to open an attachment from a posted mail in a forum. Another bowser window pops up but the contents cannot be displayed. It is a NT 4.0 machine with IE 6. Any idea? thanks

WHat type of attachment is it? Are you having issues with other sites? Can you open this attachment on another machine?
It may be that theres an actualy problem with the site

A client of mine has a similar problem, conditions are also WinNT4 and IE6. This client uses webmail and whenever she tries to open an attachent, there's trouble. She gets prompted (as usual) if she wants to open the file or save it to her workstation. No matter which option you choose, the only thing you can do is to save the file. There's no way to open it reight away. This happens with all file name extensions and programs to open these file types are installed.

Is this there a setting in iE which my eyes just cannot see? I use the same webmail myself and I can open attachments just fine.
