Anyone know of a (reasonably priced) program for Exchange server that can remove attachments from email and replace them with a link or stub? I have seen products from C2C & Sherpa. Anybody used these or others for this purpose?

Thanks

Richard

Knock yourself out on SlipStick's utility list:

There are more than a dozen there with brief summaries and links to the vendor pages. I was looking for a solution like you are describing a couple of months ago and had trouble getting vendors to respond to questions.

I ended up deploying GFI's MailArchiver, but it handles all mail past a certain date, not just attachments. It stores the mail in either SQL or an open-source database and makes more room on the store while keeping you from having to deal with user archive .pst files on workstations. Mail in the archive can be browsed to with a web client and read or pushed back into the message store.

Thanks for the quick reply ShackDaddy. I have seen that huge list before ( is the list for server side utils not Outlook). I was just interested if people had already evaluated some of these and are now using one of them.

I already have GFI MailArchiver v4 but it does not remove attachments. People receive lots of email with large attachments. To reduce the Info Store size I probably would have to delete email over 1 month! So I'm looking to remove attachments before actually deleting emails.
