Windows NT network , OUTLOOK OFFICE 2000 CW. wINDOWS nt WORKSTATION.
On one particular workstation - the user is set up and has adminstrative rights. A user by them selves walked up to computer and logged in for first time. THey do have user name on the network. THey opened OUtlook, they changed to their mailbox.
WHen they tried to open a WORD attachment(click on it) - the following happens
1.) very quickly it looks like WORD is trying to install, it flashes a quick screen , but it then loads.
2.) it then displays the following message;
MICROSOFT WORD
"the document name or path is not valid. Try these suggestions
*Check the file permissions for docunmet and drive
*Use the temp file open dialog box to locate doc. c:\temp\xxx.doc
I've tried to fix and repair WOrd - doesnt work
haven't tired fix and repair outlook - haven't tried it because "open attachmetn" works with the original owner of this computer
tried using OPEN WITH to retrain word , but this does not work.
This is the first time this has happened with a second user getting on -
Should I just delete office altogether and restart ??
Thanks
