I have Lotus Notes R4.1 installed in my system. I have a problem with my attachments that it not showing more than 8 characters of it's name and while attaching too i'm not able to see more than 8 characters in the dialog box. While my friend having a similar dt as mine is able to see full file names of attachments in the mails, there is some problem with mine. Pls help me out as it is essential for me to send in specific formats. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the old 8.3 problem to me. All File names used to be limited to 8 characters with a 3 character extension. I don't work with lotus but I would try shortening your file names. Just rename them. And see if that solves your problem.

thanks for your reply but i can't rename it to 8 characters as i should follow a naming convention which comes from 12-15 characters. The problem is it is being supported in my friend's dt and not mine. There may be some setting for this it seems. But help me to find out the proper settings.
