Attachment extraction possible?

I would like to extract the attachments coming in to Outlook into a separate folder. (without removing them from the email). Eml2db is not what I need (if it were to extract to Paradox, however, I might figure out a way to make it useful for something else). Attachment sniffer apparently will extract according to criteria which needs to be set for each category.

Eudora worked with an attachment folder, but I have my doubts that I can set up a pop acct on an exchange server (but then, I can forward all mail to a gmail acct and set one up there, perhaps.)

Does anyone have wisdom on this issue?

I have the answer, thank you very much. Thunderbird stores attachments in a distinct folder, numbering those with the same names incrementally, so setting the program to leave mail on server and allowing it to run silently and download at regular intervals will provide quick access to documents with preview.

NOT ONLY THAT! Setting up Thunderbird accounts on separate computers means not having to transport the documents. You gotta love those Mozzilla guys, really. LOVE THEM.

i moved to TB about a year ago and have never looked back.

you can also set up differnet email accounts and have the emails go into their own separate email accounts inbox instead of just one big Inbox!

I am an old Eudora fan and refused until now to touch Outlook. Unfortunately Sherweb, which I use, supports Outlook first. I find Outlook cumbersome and over packed with things I do not need in my email box.

I think my game plan is to get things working on Outlook, set up the TB account, then move that way.

I am a bit confused with the attachment issue. I find attachments from a previous Thunderbird Acct, but I can't find an option for setting the attachment folder.

I am correct, I think, in that Thunderbird like Eudora saves attachments to a folder?

I don't know why MS can't put out an app for this or add an option (folder with link, which is how Eudora works). It's clearly possible.
