Hello.
Is there anyway to have Exchange reject emails with specific types of attachments? Otherwise, is it possible to strip these from the email before passing to a virus scanner (in order to reduce workload).

Unfortunately, no. This can be done either at the firewall, or with the Anti-virus software.
