Hi,

Im currently setting up a new remote office, however they happen to be heavy CAD users. Similar problem to ascott in his post thread48-711850

The remote office will have a file server for cad files, but all office files will be stored at HO, where the citrix farm is

The problem with this set up comes when users are sending and receiving CAD files via email. Outlook freezes when uploading attachments from a local drive and when saving to a local drive.

I know the emails still actually transmit at the same speed, however outlook freezing is a big issue. something as simple as a progress bar for adding attachments would make the user experience better.

I'm considering not using Citrix at all for this remote office, they require a local backed up server and fat clients anyway to host the CAD files and I could use Outlook 2003 to connect to the HO mail server.

They will be on WAN so local server will be a DC on same domain as HO. Im not seeing the benefit of Citrix here.

Can anyone contribute a possible solution to the scenario?

Thanks

Ken
