Hi

I have a client that use filemaker pro 5.5. They have created a database and the help of tek-tips were able to link files to the database. One little problem, the user who created the link, opend the database as a host, linked the file and can access the file without a problem. Another user can not - the path isn't recognized. Any ideas? Thanks, jbead JBead

Based on your post I would say that the file might be on the user's computer. If that is the case, then no one else would be able to open the file because the link would be to C:\<file directory>.

When another user tries to open the file, the link will look on their computer in their C drive.

If it's possible, place the files you want to link to on a server. Then map all the workstations to that location using the same drive letter (like drive Y). Then all the users would be able to access it because they would have access to drive Y.

The other option is to load the file into the container instead of the link.
