Attaching a Word Doc in Entourage

Hello all.

I've got a problem attaching word docuemnts in Microsoft Entourage in OS X.

whenever a document is either dragged or inserted, it comes up with the following error:

"An unknown error (-199) occurred."

i have searched through various forums and have tried google groups and found a solution saying that if you open the document and copy everything apart from the last paragraph and paste it into a new doc then it will work fine. it did, but that has now stopped working. I belive (from a few things i have read) that its to do with corrupt files, but these are brand new files that have been made seconds before attatching them.

does anyone have any ideas regarding this?? i am at abit of a loose end and cannot find anymore info on this anywhere and am in need of an expert.

Go to Entourage preferences/compose.

Under Attahcments, select encode for any computer. Under compression select none. Make sure to check append extension and whether you want to send copies to cc and bcc.

When attaching, avoid dragging the document into the attachment window. Instead, use Add button next to attachment pane and select your document to add. For some reason, dragging sometimes corrupts the document when attaching.
