Current environment:

1 NT 4.0 Server - PDC
1 NT 4.0 Server - BDC

Want to begin experimenting with a new Win 2000 server attached to the network without making the Win 2000 server the PDC.

Will Win 2000 let me do that, or will Win 2000 "insist" on being the PDC?

Any gotchas I need to watch out for?

Thanks for any help.

Jack

No problem - Win 2000 & NT 4.0 servers will operate together in an NT 4.0 domain. The Win 2000 server will not insist on being the PDC. The way to do this is just to install the Win 2000 server and then join it to the existing domain, just as you would with an NT server. Don't run DC Promo or install Active Directory and you will be fine. Good luck.
