Attach PDF to Exchange

I have Crystal reports running through VB that allows the user to mail PDF files through Exchange under Windows NT or 2000.
We have upgraded some computers to XP and now those users can not create the PDF as a file or an attachment to Exchange.
Can anyone tell me if there is update to DLL's or what I need to change to make this work?
