I was working with a database normally until this morning.

I had a table (let's name xxx) which was involved in many forms. Suddenly, VFP 6.0 started bugging me with an 'Alias xxx is not found' error each time i tried to open a form.

Tracking back this error, I detected that the Data Environment was refering this table and the message disapeared when i delete this table from the form's envirnment.

Even more: when i opened my database (in exclusive mode), i issued a validate database recover command and the same message popped. So i decided to unlink the table from the database and restore it later.

For my surprise, the error persists: without the table, with the table relinked, with the table renamed & relinked, etc. I've even opened the .DBC file to check out if any previous reference to xxx.dbf remains and there is no sign of it.

I have no clue what's going on. Any help? Take away all the buzz of this biz and what do you get? 01000100101010...

Did you make sure there are no references to the table in the controls, like text boxes and so on?

As a matter of fact, I have totally removed all my controls (i left a bare form, only with Data Environment...)

backup one more step, make a new form. if the error still exist, try using gendbc to create a new database and move the data over, but that should not be neccessary. Attitude is Everything
