ATM Interface pvc config 1

Can somebody tell me what exactly would happen if two connecting atm interfaces were transferring data with pvc 1/32 (expl) one configured with encapsulation aal5snap and the other one not. Would this create a delay, or a complete miscommunication? Is there a command I can use in order to determine if traffic was lost due to encapsulation issues.
..well other than the debug...

do you mean

int1 -------ATM------- int2 ???

if so and they have different encapsulations they will not work... period.

in order to be told accuratly when the atm link is down you need to use oam-pvc manage.
