About 8 months ago I read about a problem with Win xp and the ATI2DVAG driver, but there was no solution. I am wondering if a solution has been found.

The problem was that when the computer would go to standby, otr at other random times the ATI@DVAG driver would get caught in an "infinite loop" and you would get a blue screen. This bug/crash was non-CPU specific and also not video card specific.

Has anyone found a fix?

HAs anyone come up with an answer for this one? I'm having the same problem.

This is about where we still are.....

"DEVICE DRIVER is STUCK IN INFINITE LOOP" error in Windows XP

If you want a real rough long shot have you got the Intel Application Accelerator.

The Intel(R) Application Accelerator is designed to improve
performance of the storage sub-system and overall system
performance. This software delivers improved performance
through several ingredient technologies (components).

I am having the same problem with Window's XP. Not sure why it's happening from time to time but this is clearly the problem . ANY FIXES AS OF YET FOR THIS PROBLEM ?
Please email me if you find anything
Thank you,

I haven't seen any fixes yet. This seems to be a Win XP problem independent of CPU or Video card. Microsoft should fix this, but will they? No they will issue Windows "Z"P upgrade for only $189 that fixes all the bugs in the world and erradicates the mosquitoes carrying the West Nile Encephalitis virus, too. And then we will find that there is another bug. It sure does sell OS software upgrades though...:(

The ATI technotes clearly indicate the problem stems from the motherboard BIOS makers and not Microsoft and XP.

What the heck does that mean? (Synical Aside: The problem stems from the gun maufacturer and not from the person pulling the trigger.) The microsoft tech notes state that the problem is with everyone's motherboard BIOS and not with Win XP? OK, so where can I get the fix?

I wish instead of laying blame they would have a statement which "indicates where the solution can be found!"

I just had the problem again today on my Sony PCG-GR390 laptop.

My point only is that the problem is not Microsoft's or its XP OS. You should get the fix from the source of the problem: the BIOS manufacturer.
