ATI-TV WONDER PROBLEMO

I've recently purchased an ATI-TV Wonder video device and installed it in my machine.
The specs are:

Asus K7V333
AMD Athlon 2000+
Geforce 2 MX 200
256 MB DDR2700 RAM

I think I set up all the drivers for the ATI device properly as they all show up functioning in control panel.
However, when I try to run the multimedia center to do video capture, i get an error saying my hardware is invalid.
Also, when I first set up multimedia center, everything passes except for my video capture device as it says I have none. What I would like to know is first, are there proper procedures/order to install this, and also, do I have to have an ATI video card for this to work. This device is PCI-not USB.
Any advice would be useful as I am new with this video capture business.

Never become expert at something you hate. They'll make you do it for the rest of your life.

did you install the ATI in place of the GeForce, or did you install the drivers for the ATI with the GeForce?

I've installed the geforce with the latest drivers, latest direct x, and installed the drivers for the ati device. all 7 of the wdm and other codecs show up in device manager, yet when i install multimedia center, it says that my current configuration is not acceptable for full playback performance. i believe that the geforce has overlay support so i dont know what the problem could be.
i am unable to get into the tv part of the multimedia center becase it says it cannot initialize the video.

It works better if you plug it in.

Ah, this card is so finicky. I did a reinstall of windows and then it suddenly decided to allow me to use the video capture feature. However, the sound is always going in and out. Using the TV viewer, sometimes when i switch channels the audio works and sometimes it doesn't. Does anyone have any ideas why this would happen? ~Apex1x

I've got the MX/MX400 and the TV Wonder card as well, haven't had any problems with other than the mute on the TV control seems to be inverted with the one on my SB128 mixer. Could this be similar to your intermittent sound??? Also, make sure that you have downloaded all relevant items in Windows Update and have all the necessary (updated)drivers installed for your motherboard... no more ideas right now.

Do you ever notice that in the control panel/system one or two of the WDM drivers appears to not be working correct(yellow exlamation mark). I find that if i reinstall the driver and reboot, it works for a short time. I am thinking that has something to do with the intermittent sound. This is strange. Any suggestions? ~Apex1x

What OS are you running? I'm on 2k pro. There's an Nvidia driver on the windows update site that enables a couple of the drivers that were showing up in the device manager. I'm not sure what the other 2 that are showing up are for, possibly features built into the chipset that my card doesn't take advantage of. BTW, get the detonator 40.xx drivers from the nvidia site, they're beta, but I havn't had any problems.
