Display Properties/Settings/Advanced/3D. There are two choices, Direct3D and OpenGl. I can click on OpenGl, and then OK but when I go back to the advanced setting, the settings have returned to the Direct3D. What am I doing wrong.
Unless I'm totally out, these settings do not make the board work in one mode instead of the other. They set parameters such that the apps that need either one will find out how to properly exploit the card features.
What felixc is saying is that the settings for both Direct 3D and Open GL are configured in Display Properties, and then either one or the other is selected when playing a game, or the game selects one of them by default.
Thanks ski.
I use Newtek's Lightwave(LW). This is an animation program which utilizes OpenGL. I went into LW and the settings didn't change to OpenGL. The programs works but I'm still wondering why I can't see the proper catagorie when using LW. I guess if its not broke, don't fix it. Thanks again.
