Major problem here!
I put together my little system P4 2.0Ghz/512MB PC2100/Viaram Mother Board/60GB HDD. Little system. The problem lies with the Benchmarks and DVD play back. I went and got the lastest and greatest from the website, but they both still suck.

Is it my system config, or is this just a cheap card that ATI just threw out there for us?

How bad is bad?
Problem is As with Nvidia models the numbers change, but I am fairly certain that the 7000 is the new version of the Radeon VE? I used to have one of these and in properties it would post Radeon 7000.
This card has SDram and is a very poor performer, it is over 30% slower than the aging GF2 MX, about the same 3D Marks as the ancient TNT2.
I might be wrong? if it has DDR memory then it should be a little quicker than a GF2 MX 400 but when you consider these only just manage to play the new releases and many gamers with such cards are moving on to Radeon 9000's or GF4Ti's.
The other thing is I bet you are using Mad Onions
3D Benchmark 2001SE? this 3D mark program was designed to stretch the then New GF3 500Ti's and Radeon 8500's, both of which are 200% quicker than your Radeon 7000, a bit like harnessing you dog upto a carriage.
3D Benchmark 2000 was designed for less power.
Martin Replying helps further our knowledge, without comment leaves us wondering.
