I have a Sony PCV-RX650 that came with a 32 meg ASUS agp card that uses nvidia drivers that worked great. I, in my infinite wisdom decided to go big and get an ATI All in Wonder 8500. It was nice, and i even got it to work (for the most part, i didnt try alot of the features). It didnt crash my system or anything like that. Alas, i decided it was a little more than i actually needed so i removed it and sold the card on eBay. I uninstalled all the drivers for the AIW and reinstalled my original card. It works good. So again, i have decided to update to a PNY GeForce 4400ti and i wanted to make sure anything ATI related was long gone. It isnt, there are still ATI files floating in my system that i cannot get rid of. Anyone know how to rid these files from my computer. I just dont want possible conflicts with the new card. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a possible solution to this problem? One other thing, it says that this video card requires a 350 watt power supply. Is this necessary? I have a 268 watt max power supply and i am having a heck of a time acquiring a new power supply that will fit in my system due to sony making it a propietary power supply. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am new to this forum and site and it looks like a great place for Q & A solutions. Thank you.

Boot to Safe Mode and remove all references to the ATI card...the files shouldn't be in use in Safe Mode and the system should let you remove them.
Mfr.'s recommendations usually should NOT be taken lightly.
Sony surely sells a more powerful PSU that'll fit in your case...or take the measurements of it's size and do a lot of research with pricewatch.com on finding a power supply that'll fit. (then worry that the leads are the same)
Lots of the online vendors have 800 #'s and tech support ppl included in the sales ppl and they are anxious to help you since it involves selling something.
It's AFTER the sale that you may have problems getting anything out of them. LOL

I went into safe mode and got rid of as many ATI references as i could find. My god they were everywhere. There still may be more but theres no problems as of yet. The GeForce 4400ti is in and working so far. Thanks for the help. If this is too much of a draw on my power supply...what would be a common problem i would encounter? Thanks.

Biggest problem I can see you're gonna' have is to find a way to QUIT WORRYING so much about it...LOL
(You remind me of my wife. When things are going great she worries that there's nothing to worry about.)

LOL! I hear ya. All is well and the christmas present i got (Samsung 171v Flat Panel) couldnt look better. Merry Christmas to all.
