Hello,

I just put together a new system with an ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe MB and a Saphire (ATI) 9600 Pro video card, and it recently had a minor glitch.

When I booted up the computer one day, the video showed what could only be described as "jail bars" of distortion / static on the screen (about 6 thick bars total). I turned off the computer, and re-seated the card in the AGP slot and locked the AGP frequency in the bios to 66MHz with a spread spectrum of .50%. Since then (2 weeks ago), it hasn't happened again, but I want to make sure it was just a one time type glitch and not a warning sign that there are other issues around the corner.

Has anyone else seen this type of problem and is it something I should be concerned about?

I have a 9600xt , great card with no glitches. It has run perfect eversince ive got it. Is there any large magnetic sources near your screen that might be causing the glitch ?
I notice when i have my speakers turned up my monitor osiclates a little.

The 9600 series is a great card. No, I don't have any type of magnetic device near the monitor. I actually learned that lesson some years ago with a pair of unshielded PC speakers. :~)-

The problem only occured the once and since re-seating the card in the AGP slot and locking the frequency, it's been working fine. It was probably just a one time thing, since it occured about a week after putting the system together and has been fine since.

The new Catalyst drivers were released that are supposed to improve performance, so I'm going to check those out this weekend.

Thanks for the reply!
