Hello

I have an issue with trying to transfer calls using a dialer box connected to a serial port on the back of my pc (This is then connected to Ayaya IP office).

From what i have read i should be able to do it using the following commands

'dial
ATDT first_num;

'ring number to transfer to
ATDT!Second_num;

'hang up and compleate transfer
ATH0

The problem is that i can dial the first number and put them on hold and then dial the second number but when i hang up it disconects the secondnumber and leaves the first one hanging without conecting the two. Does anyone know what i'm doing wrong?

Cheers,

Hugh

You should try this with a phone to determine how your PBX or Centrex lines works.

Quite possibly the dialed party must answer before you hang up.

Good luck

You or the modem may not be doing anything wrong, but there may be a problem with the line you are using. On a CENTREX line you need a feature called "DID-to-DOD" call transfer to make that happen. On a POTS line the feature is called "Call Transfer Disconnect" and is offered by some service providers (PB/SBC), or a PBX station programmed with the appropriate class of service to allow this type of call transfer.

Per ISDNman above, test it with a phone set to see if it works on your line. It could also be a timing issue with the "hookflash" function of the modem. In that case you need the documentation on your modem to modify the timing value to one that will work for your line.

Hope this helps!
