ATA186-11-A making 2 lines work.

Good day. I'm told to put a 2nd line on a ATA the second MAC address has to be a "little" different. IE: Drop the OO at the beginning and add 01 at the end of the address. Line 1 works fine and I can program the 2nd line on it but the 2nd line doesn't work right. Line 2 gets a dial tone and can call another extension but as soon as (or slightly after) the other extension answers it drops the call and gives a 120 (fast busy) to both. Works about the same if line #2 is called from another extension too. Thanks in advance for any help.

just to be sure: you didn't program the second line 'as a second line' of the first mac?
but duplicated the phones mac, entered the changed mac and added a new DN to the (first) line?

(if so, thats indeed how it should work)
