Recently installed a Maxtor 133 into my Asus A7V333 along with am ATA133 cable - but how do I know its running at 133??

I have installed the latest Via 4in1 drivers but still cannot tell it the effort has been worth it

Anyone got any pointers??

It'll probably boil down to whether or not the motherboard and BIOS will bring the drive to its full capability.
Loot at the mfr.'s site (motherboard) and see what they say...
As for your own system... (in the here and now) go to Device Manager and look at the IDE/ATA Atapi controllers and right click on each and choose Properties/Advanced settings and use the box to enable DMA. Yours should run UDMA6...at least UDMA5...again depending on the board/BIOS.

Download the diagnostics for the drive from Maxtor, should be a feature in it to display the ATA/UDMA mode and/or change it.
