I am having an issue with overhead paging using an ATA for access. When a user dials the access number and hangs up, the ATA has already sent ring gen to the Valcom paging adapter. The ATA releases because the user hung up but then the paging adapter already saw the incoming call, seizes the line and pulls DT and blasts it out the speakers.
The adapter has an option for Disconnect on DT but it is not recognizing the DT from the ATA. Changed adapters, no change.
Is there a way to change frequency or remove DT from the ATA or make the ATA ground start? My alternative is to put in an FXS card in a router and make IT ground start. But I don't want to do this unless it is my ONLY alternative.

Here's an interesting post on the Cisco forums:

Talks about adding a delay using PLAR from an ATA to an alarm system...could be adapted to fit your needs - a delay before dialing, user hangs up, overhead paging system doesn't detect dial tone.

The 3.X version of the ATA software has a parameter to change the dial tone...the admin guide for changing dial tone (and the voice code menu # for changing the option) can be found here:

This looks like it can only be accessed via the voice menu (not the internal web server on the ATA).

Thanks. The first link looks like they want to delay the outbound dialing from an analog security device connected to the ATA. Unfortunately I don't think this will help me. I'd need a connection delay between the IP phone dialing the ATA and the ATA sending ring gen to my paging adapter.
The other link may help. I'm waiting on getting a paging adapter in my lab to try changing the DT to a frequency that the paging adapter recognizes. I am using SCCP for the ATA protocol.
I appreciate the input.
