Hi, is an (80 wire) ATA100 cable just the same as an ATA133 cable? The reason I ask is I just bought an ATA133 drive and was wondering if I need to buy a new IDE cable as well or will my old (80 wire) ATA100 IDE cable do the trick? Will my new drive be slower if I use an ATA100 cable?

Cheers.

Use it.

No, it will be just fine. There are only two main types of ATA cables: 40-wire and 80-wire. For any ATA speeds higher than ATA/33, you need an 80-wire cable and that's it.
