I have encountered three instances recently whereby the Norstar modular phone system with a NEW type ATA2 unit connected is unable to generate long DTMF tones if called internally by a digital keystation. Users can input the Feature 808 code and get the 'long tones' to display- but when keying digits, no DTMF tones at all are output from teh destination ATA2. The programming has been checked and verified that the ATA is set to 'Tones' - has anyone else experienced problems with these new ATA2 units?. I dont think that this is a generic ATA2 issue as we have seen others that work fine- is there a known compatibility issue between say system software level and ATA2 revision? - I have consulted both BT and Nortel- neither of which are aware of any problems? - It is strange that we have seen this issue on three seperate systems, unless all three were programmed incorrectly by the system maintainer. Any advice would be appreciated.
