ATA 188

Hi all,

Has anyone managed to get an ATA 188 working with dot1q. What my customer wants to do, it plug the ATA into the cisco switch, and have the Voice VLAN's for the analogue phone/fax. And then pass the data vlan out of the second ethernet port, to plug a PC into.

This is the config I used on their 3550 but we couldn't get it working. At the moment all we get is the Voice VLAN out of the second port.

switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport trunk native vlan 2
switchport voice vlan 4
switchport mode trunk

Vlan 2 is the data Vlan and Vlan 4 is the voice vlan.

Glen,

We have a similar setup, and I think you might want to do
something like this:

switchport access vlan 4
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport trunk native vlan 2
switchport mode trunk
switchport voice vlan 4
switchport priority extend cos 0
spanning-tree portfast

It looks as though it's been a while since you posted,
though, so you may already have found a solution.
