A friend ' Yes really' has an old PC, and i believe it has an old bus speed of 100Mhz, or even 66Mhz.

He has bought a new Harddrive which is an ATA/133 which i believe means it requires at least 133mhz bus speed.

SO will the Hard disk work on an old machine or does it require a faster bus speed ?

First of all, the ATA interface isn't a bus speed rated in MHz. Instead, an ATA/66 interface is capable of transferring up to 66MB per second.

The ATA/133 drive will work, but at the slower ATA interface of the old computer. Depending on its age, it's probably ATA/33 or ATA/66 at best. You can find cheap ATA/133 add-in cards for less than $25. They fit into an empty PCI slot and give you 2 extra IDE channels.
