I just discoverd the AT command and am not sure how it works. I have a remote site that is connected via dial up networking. The modem always loses it's connection. I have been searching for a way to have the computer check every ten or fifteen minuts to see if the modem is connect or not and if it is not then to dial a connection all without the user even knowing what is going on.

I would like to have a batch file that checks to see if there is a connection it could ping the server or something like that. If the test fails then dial the modem. Then the batch file would run every 15 minutes. I am not sure how to tell if the modem is dialed or not, are there environment variables that could be set?

I looked at some info on the AT command and I could not figure out how to make it work.

If someone could give me an outline or point me to some info I would greatly appreciate it.....

Thanks...

Troy Williams B.Eng.
fenris@hotmail.com
