We have a AT&T Spirit 308 phone system that we are trying to setup Music On Hold using a cd player with a line out. I have two different cables (3.5mm to 3.5mm and a 3.5mm to RCA) we have tried both cables using both the line out and the headphone jack on the CD player and plugging it into the Audio port and adjusting the volume. But, when we put a customer on hold we have no music playing. I have tested the cd player to make sure that it is outputting the music, which it is. Is there anyone who is knowledgable in this phone system, and is there anything we have to change in the configuration that needs to be change?

Should be pretty plug-n-play. Are you putting an internal call on hold and listening for it or are you calling from the outside? Internal calls won't play MOH, just a call from outside the system.

I have called in using both my cell phone as well as calling from line two into line one.

Yeah music on hold just works. There's nothing to program. You need an RCA plug to whatever your device takes, you can get adapters if needed from radio shack.
