HI,

Looking for advice on how to setup a AT&T Partner II system. The System was pulled in working order and moved to a new building the company does not want to upgrade if it can be make to work again.

It has the following modules

Partner 206e module r3.1
Partner II 400 Module
Partner plus R4.1 module

All the extension are wired in and powers on phones.
There is Dial Tone at the NID or demarc.
However when the lines are connected from the NID to the Partner there is no dial Tone on any extension even if the phone is plugged in directly in the extensions 1-6. Only the intercom light on the phone itself are selectable.

Any ideas on how to setup or configure this phone system at least to get dial tone through to the phones?

Thanks in advance.

The phones plug into the 6 jacks at the bottom of the left module. The outside lines plug into the top 2 jacks of the left module, and all 4 jacks of the 2nd module. Nothing (normally) plugs into the jacks on the center slot module.

Once you get Ext. 10 working, try Feature 00, left Intercom twice, #989-25327

They have 3 lines coming in. You stated that the lines go to the first top 2 ports on the partner I and all 4 ports on the partner II.
So do these lines need to be bridged?

Can I plug in all three lines?

Does line 1 go to both modules and also line 2?

Also there is no ext 10 on any of the the 3 modules, what exactly is ext 10?

Sorry for all the questions, I've never dealt with a ATT partner II system.

As much information as you can give is greatly appreciated.

second or middle module close up top partner 2

3rd or right module close up top partner plus

The left most module:

The very top Jack is line 1
The Jack below that is line 2
Then you have a space, and then 6 more jacks in a row.
The top one here is Ext. 10, the one below that is 11, and so on to the bottom which is Ext. 15.
The next module is line 3 at the very top, line 4 underneath that.
Then a space and line 5 and 6.

The modules do not come pre-labeled, because their numbers change depending on which slot they are in, and what is in the other slots

Code:
L1 L3
L2 L4

X10
X11
X12
X13
X14 L5
X15 L6

In the picture of all 3 modules in the carrier, can you tell us what is connected to the top 2 ports on the Partner II processor?

Those jacks are used to connect a paging system "PAGE" (the top jack) and some sort of computer or printer to collect call data "SMDR" (the bottom jack).

I [love2] "FEATURE 00

there is nothing connected to the page and smdr currently, or L4, L5 L6.

L1, L2 and L3 have one pair lines connected from the nid with tone.

X10 through X15 are connected to the phones using 2 pair.

intercom 1 and 2 are the only selectable button on all phones,

seems to hear a constant tone sound, and the error sound if anything but the intercom or the number 1 is selected. if the number 1 is selected along with any other number is pressed it seems to dial somewhere, not a real number. Cant dial out.

Now what?

If you plug a display phone into the first extension port, the one identified as Ext. 10, do you see the Date and Time (even if it is incorrect?)

If so, and you press Feature and dial 00, do you see Program Ext 10 on the display? From there, pressing the Left Hand Intercom button twice should get you System Program

If you get that far, dial the code I gave you earlier, #989-25327, and after the system restarts, see what you've got.

Really?
Partner PLUS which is 12 or more years old
AND
no clue how to program it?
get an installer to program it and I bet for about $100 you have a nicely setup phone system without wasting peoples time here.

REALLY a partner II.
Old analog phone systems are not used much anymore by many computer professionals, much less in educational institutions.

However this was a favor because they wanted to save some change.

I manage a Wisp with over 2000 customers, and over 300 pieces of infrastructure included but not limited to Cisco routers, Cisco switches, Motorola canopy access points, point to point back hauls, cluster control modules, sync injectors ect ect.

CCNA, Security +, Network +, A+

But show me a phone switch that i have never seen before and i ask for assistance from knowledgeable people.

Sorry to bother you......

Back to the topic at hand TOUCH TONE TOMMY thank you so very much, the phone switch is working great after i punched in those numbers to reset the switch. If there is way to buy a beer or 2, i would. maybe Paypal?

Again Tommy Thanks

regards......
