AT&T and Softk56 - Modem Trouble

Hello.

Does anyone know about K56 and V.90 and V.92 for Modems? I am trying to connenct to ATT.net and I have reformatted to WinXp and I cannot get it to sign on. It signs on for a second and then disconnects. The computer use to have Win98SE on it. It is a laptop also. And the same problem was going on and it just started. Can anyone help?

Howdy:

Did you run the upgrade advisor FIRST to make sure all your hardware, etc was compatible with XP??

Sounds like bad, wrong or corrupt drivers for your modem..

Hi,

I did not run that program. WinXp recognizes it fine. Win98 did too, and we had the same problem. Dialup and hold the connection for about 30 seconds then quit. We however, did go buy a USB external modem, hooked it up and it worked perfect! So mayb ATT doesnt support old school KFlex anymore or the modem is bad. We got the problem fixed so we are happy. Thanks.
