Has anyone had any luck configuring a Cisco 2500 series router with an asynch cable to the serial interface of a device that normally requires directly cabling up with a laptop and female db9?

I am trying to find out the part number for the cable that goes from what looks like a 68 pin connector to a female DB9 . I have some cables that go from the asynch ports to the winchesster v35 cables, but nothing to get it back to db9.

Thanks, Jeff

Teletubby, which model of Cisco 2500 do you have?
Serial interfaces on Cisco routers are DB60 ports.
If, however, if you have a 2509-2512, then this connector is indeed a DB68 SCSI II female.
If this is what you have, then you have two choices for cabling.
Either,
1)CAB-OCTAL-ASYNC= DB68 to (8)RJ45 legs
2)CAB-OCTAL-ASYNC= DB68 to (8)DB25 legs

Albeit, a bit messy, you can utilize a modular adapter/gender changer at the end of the leg to convert to DB9.

Thanks. You are right. It is a DB60 on a Model 2522 with about 10 serial ports, but looks like the first 2 wont do asynch. Great link you sent me, I was able to get to the Cisco Cable guide, and hopefully will be able to order the closest one to what I need. Thanks, Jeff
