I would like to make a list of all of the directories that are being backed up. Is it possible to get this info from the *.asx file.

You can load the asx file and check what folers are being backed up.
or uou can create a COUNT job with the same source selection as the backup job with "Log All activity" enabled in the job options.
after the count job completes the job log will give you a list of the folders that were selected for backup in the original backup job...
