hi i bought an asus p5pe-vm motherboard

it says on the site that it can run

Dual Channel Memory Architecture
2 x 184-pin DIMM Sockets support max. 2GB DDR400/333/266 non-ECC, unbuffered DDR SDRAM memory

that memory, ive got ddr 2 ram, whats the difference between ddr400 and ddr 2, would this motherboard be able to run this memory? or will it explode if i do try to run it??

Cheers for the help
Bobbie

DDR2 will not physically fit into DDR1 slots, the keyways in the memory are in different places, besides that the memory is quite different in other ways.
This motherboard takes the original DDR memory type:
PC2100 (DDR266) PC2700 (DDR333) and PC3200 (DDR400)
