I have a Asus A7V-E motherboard with a Duron 1 Go processor. I can't install either of Windows 2000 pro or XP pro on my computer, after first reboot I get a blue screen with an error message. I flashed the BIOS with the latest version (wich was supposed to make A7V-E compatible with Duron 1 Go) but the problem remains. If anyone had this problem or heard about it I would be very glad to hear about a solution.

Thank you
Jack

Is this a new build?
Or an existing computer upgrade?

Have you checked all of the mianboard settings/jumpers etc to make sure the CPU is setup correctly?

Posting the error message will help us help you. Kimber

This is a new built, the motherboard is supposed to be jumperfree so I haven't checked for jumper setting. I don't have the error message, I will try to re-install again and post the error message, thank you for taking time to answer me.

frogmanqc...
someone will answer even if I can not.
Please post as many details as possible to get a thorough and helpful answer and possible solution.
If your mainboard is jumper free, then we need to look at the BIOS settings in setup to see if there are any errors in there.
A place to start.
Always here to do what I can...
Look forward to hearing from you. Kimber
