Hello,

I'm new to using Quark,

In the document layout palette where it shows the thumbsnails of all the pages in the document, some of my pages have little asterix symbols "*" beside them. Can anyone please tell me what this means?

Thank-you!

This is to do with page numbering.

This means the page has a prefixs number to the page.

Click on the page in the document layout window, at the bottom of the window you will see Page "your page number" followed by "*". Double click the text, you will then get options for changing the page number.

This is used for when you are use auto page numbering in the master pages. If you can't fix it in 20 minutes call someone who can.

Most of all the time it also means that this is the beginning of a SECTION. Whatever page is referenced at the lower left corner could begin any section number needed over and over again. Let freedom ring!

To set the beginning of a section be on the page the section begins/Page/Section enter the number the page number. This may be done numerous times. Let freedom ring!
