Spanish voice prompts are included on UCx50. The language code is es. To test it, just configure one of your extensions to use the language "es" and then dial *97 to enter voicemail (or use some other system feature).

It will not accept that code. Everytime I attempt to save it in Languages, it clears the field!!! Which leads me to believe something is buggy!!!!

In my extension configuration when I enter "es" for spanish or "fr" for french it tells me to Please enter a valid language code

Spanish and french are absolutely standard on the UCx. It sounds like the languages aren't loading when the system boots up. Assuming that you've rebooted the system, best bet is to contact emetro support. If something is missing, they can load it up remotely.

This is strange. I just tested entering various language codes (include some totally bogus ones) in:
1. SIP Settings - the Language field (default language used by SIP phones)
2. Nortel Settings - the Language field (default language used by Nortel phones)
3. Nortel Extension - the Language Code field (specific language used for that Nortel extension)
3. SIP Extension - the Language Code field (specific language used for that SIP extension

It does not appear that any checking is done whatsoever. The GUI configuration pages accept any input - at least with my UCx 3.0 software release. If the input does not match an installed language, the system uses the default one (US English).

What software release are you using? Where exactly are you trying to enter the language code when you get the error message? Is it a pop-up message or is it displayed in the top portion of the GUI page?

The sw is also R.3. The popup occurs whenever I enter a code in the language field for the extension. In the Language screen I want to add a language. So I put in the language code and then select the destination. I save it to configuration and click on the recently added language and the field is empty. In s SIP settings once I save it I get (Language must be alphanumeric and installed). In Nortel settings it just kicks out the code and replaces it with a forward slash.

So, finally able to get the language to play via extension. However, when I input the destination for Spanish IVR and save, I call the Day IVR and press 9 which routes it to the Spanish IVR that still plays english prompts. What am I missing here???

Did you create the spanish language under the Language menu? On your main IVR, you would then send callers who press 9 to the spanish language and in the spanish language, you would send them to the spanish IVR. You can't just send it directly to the spanish IVR from your main IVR. Have to send it to language first.

Hey Telcodog, my problem was in the destination of the Day IVR when 9 is pressed. I had it routed to Spanish IVR instead of Language-Spanish. It works like a charm. Now off to some other minor issues. Thanks man, I appreciate it:)
