asterisk appearing before job number

Actually you guseed wrong...
it is a database problem..
you will see an asterisk before the job ID if the ARCServe DB has a problem and CAT files are not being merged...
look for r*.* files in ARcserve\Database folder...
stop the DB engine
delete all the r*.* files...
empty the Arcserve\TEMP folder
if this doesnt resolve the problem...
you will have to initialize the DB.
