In some of my web pages, I use special characters from the "Webdings 2" font. Seems to work on most PCs. But then I just tried to load the page on a Windows Me PC without MS Office, and found that Webdings 2 is not available, causing my page to look like gobble-de-gook. How common is it for PCs to not have the various Wingdings/Webdings fonts? I could use small gifs instead, but the font characters are mighty convenient...

I use Debian, take a guess... think on all users with Linux, they have no fonts as windows has.

Same goes for Macs (although we do get Verdana *grin*).

It's probably best to use gifs if you want the site to be a little more browser friendly. Up to you I guess.

I get the message! Thanks to both of you for giving me a good reason to redesign.
