We are using an MXe III with MCD 4.2 and are trying to do something as simple as map an internal number to go out as a specific DDI. On other sites that we have done, we use the Associated Directory number form and setup a CPN Subsitution mapping in there. But for some reason at this one site it just does not work and the extension goes out as the primary number.

I did read somewhere that this option becomes irrelevant if you fill in another form, but I can't find it. Can anyone help.

you should only need to fill in CPN substitution & DID for CPN substitution forms. I have never had to fill in associated directory number before to setup CPN substitution.

You need to check with your service provider that they have enabled CLI on all DDI ranges as if not it doesnt matter what CLI you send out to line the exchange will strip and replace with the primary number. Also, if you have more than one circuit, make sure the DDI exists on circuit you are dialling out on or this wont work either.

Service provider has conformed there should be nothing on the system that would block outbound CLI.

"you should only need to fill in CPN substitution & DID for CPN substitution forms" We have never got these forms to work in our favour, thats why we used associated directory number as that always did.

When I am programming this I never do the whole thing in one go incase I come into the same problems you are facing. I break it down a little and test so:

In the CPN substitution form you should be able to assign a default CLI for the circuit. Change this to be something other than the prime number but still a valid CLI. Then amke sure you delete all the records for CPN substitution below as the default is only applied to exts that dont have a specific supstitution setup. Test this and see if it works.

Better yet, use the maintenance command:

CCS TRACE ENABLE CONTINUOUS

Then make a call. See what digits you are sending to the telco. I can't tell you how often the telco gets this wrong. Better than 90% in my case.
