On a hipath 4000 with a windows 2008 mat server.
Whenever I use the Assistant, and use any selection list (pull-down?), the browser window stops working, and I have to close the window and re-open it. I lose all my changes, but I can go back to the same block and type my selection and it is fine. Its only if I actually use the pull-open button that it causes this issue.

I try not to use Assistant, but don't know anything about AMO commands, so I avoid that at all cost.

I would run the client setup again. Delete the JAVA

Should I use their version of JAVA, or download the latest?

Do not use a Java version higher than 6.x - it will "break" assistant.

What version of HiPath are you running

If you are using 6.1 you can use the assistant from within the HiPath.
I recommend that you try and upgrade to V6.2 as soon as you can for stability reasons.

You should be able to log on to the assistant
and go through the client setup.
The latest version of java from is acceptable.
you will have to install the java certificates and the applet cache thing.
then all should work after a restart of the browser.
i would use internet explorer

you should use the atlantic lan or customer lan to log on to the assistant
(my last post not very clear)

I am using WIndows 8 server to log onto the assistant running at 10.10.10.xxx.

After going through the setup again, and getting all good signs along the way, I still get the same issue. If I use a pulldown selection block, assistant screen 'locks up' and I can't access any functions. I then have to close that screen, go back in, type the value I want and hope I can remember the next value so I don't have to use the pulldown selection.

I am running Windows 8.1; I put the browser into compatibly mode. No lock ups

I don't have a compatability mode option in the bar. What version of IE?
