Please forgive me as this is new to me and I need to do a possible task of shutting down 500 phones. What I think I should do is redirect all their calls to our switchboard (0) if this is possible. I assume there is somewhere in Element Manager that I can create this group, however, I am not sure how to do this? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Mary

You want them to go to "0" immediately or after a no answer condition?

I would like them to go to 0 as soon as someone dials the extension if possible. I was told to "silence" the phones basically. If this is not possible I guess I will have to disable the sets.

No real easy way of doing this. Disabling the sets is an option but I doubt they will end up at "0". The call will most likely end up at the Hunt or FDN location. If these are DID #'s you could build an IDC table and send them all to "0". But that's an entry per DN and then you have to apply it to the route. Not sure exactly what you are after here. A temporary thing, something you can turn on and off easy or a permanent solution.

This is a temporary thing as our company may have a strike and they do not want any of the phones of the "striking staff" to ring and want to redirect them to someone as it could be of an urgent matter that should not go to voice mail. I am to shut down the mailboxes as well. I was hoping that somewhere in element manager I could create a group of phone extensions now (ahead of the game) in case I need to do a change quickly to these extensions. Even if it is FNA and HTA, but I may need to walk around and call forward them as well (3 buildings about 700 phones).

I cant think of an easy way to accomplish this without a lot of programming.

The easiest way to accomplish this now, but will be a PITA when everyone comes back...

Delete the phones and turn on Vacant Number Routing and set the target to the attendant.

When they come back after the strike, you'll have to rebuild each one...easy now and pain later...

Remove the DN from the Phone and make it into a Hotline that dials 0 so if any one picks it up the handset they go to ATT. Then provide a phantom with the number that was on the phone that forwards to 0.

I think the easiest way would be a LD 49 IDC table entry. Redirect all the DID's to where you want, then when strike is over just delete the entries.

how about placing the sets in a do not disturb group and have the intercept for the group programmed as the console?
