All,

I have a nasty problem with trying to assign software to user groups with group policy.

I've done exactly like Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 302430, removing the "Authenticated users" from the GPO, and adding the security group with the users I want to give a certain package (ASSIGNED) and nothing happens.

As soon as I put the authenticated users back it works again, and when I add the computer account to the group it also works, but I want to specify by user, not also by a computer account.

Does any1 know how to accomplish this ??

Thanks in advance,

a Desperate Ommer

You can't ASSIGN software packages to users. Only to computers.

You CAN however publish or assign software to users.

It's the way it's designed to work.

Hmm. let me clear up that last post :)

You CAN select the "Assign / Publish" choice for software packages to users, but it will automatically Publish it.

Sorry about the confusion in the last post.
